And since this was during Vinces senile reign as head of creative, you could probably imagine how horrendous this was. Whats with his obsession with food humor? He even did it during MITB 2020 when everyone thought we grew past childish angles like this. And what a way to embarrass your talent who youre supposed to put over. Why would you do Chavo like this? Why kill Konnors career before it even started? I know the Ascension was cool in NXT but lets face it, I dont think anyone expected him to go far unfortunately. Yeah lets just make him lustful at the sight of cheese. Get it? Hahahaha. Cause he looks like a rat? Hahahahaha. And hold on a minute. Are my ears deceiving me or did Big Show just tell Kelly Kelly that shes his BFF? Add that to the WWE canon. Jesus christ lol. Big Show and New Years episodes dont mix well. Somehow its gonna get much worse for him in a few years time. You also had LayCool being fatphobic af. This was not ok then and its still not ok now. It really shows how creative didnt give a fuck about the female roster. Just let them go out there and act like some reality show idiots. You have someone like Beth Phoenix who I always said that she came in the wrong era. She did well for herself when she came back a decade later. At least she got that. Anyways, the show started off with a triple threat IC angle. I like everyone here as a talent (except Swagger) but my god its so hard to care or invest in these angles when its so obvious that everything is scripted to the brim. I dont believe anything anyone here is saying. Actually let me take that back. Vickie was the star of this segment. This might be a hot take but she was such a good heel man. Probably the best portrayal of a Karen character ever. Its not even go away heat for me. Its just good heat. We then had the Show vs Cody match. Its craaaazy to think that this pasty white man in front of me is the current WWE champion. His dashing and undashing eras are definitely a highlight of his career. The mask, the plastic bags hed give the audience, the side titantron acting as an actual mirror. Which is super fucking cool and I wish something like that could be brought back in some capacity. Anyways, it was an alright match I guess. The count out victory made sense. We got Drew vs Barretta next. You know, this might be a false memory, but I could swear remembering people say that Barretta was good in the ring. And honestly, he was. But maybe its because he was with a great talent like Drew. God Drew was so insanely misused. And it lasted for like an extra 4-5 years too. He was definitely the chosen one. It just took time to get there. The match ended with an INSANE bump from Barretta. Its to the point where im convinced its an accident. The margin of error for that. Holy shit. Drew showed his dastardly heel side that he still very much has to this day and further killed Barretta. The male tag match was bleh. I dont even remember how the female tag match was like. And finally, the main event was match of the night. Good stuff from everyone involved really. |

| 4 | 05.03.2022 | Wrestlingfan | 8.0 | Big Show vs Cody Rhodes: The majority of the match was Show destroying Cody and Cody hiding. Not much to say. Drew McIntyre vs Trent Barreta: This was FAR better than you would except it to be. Trent had a great match out there and tried incredibly hard. Very fun match otherwise though and a big surprise. Edge/Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio/Kane: Another great match here that followed the formula almost to the letter. This worked exactly as it was supposed to with both feuds getting pushed forward a bit more. This was rather good with everyone looking good. Laycool vs Beth Phoenix/Natalya: Surprisingly a very good match here. Michelle and Layla are underrated in the ring and this is a good example as to why. Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler vs Jack Swagger: This match was great though with a great storytelling, a TON of close near falls and an ending that fit it perfectly. |
| 5 | 30.04.2020 | BLooD | 6.0 | Durchschnittliche Ausgabe von SmackDown. Das Anfangssegment war schlecht. Drei Leute die selten längere Promos halten dürfen. Swagger war nie gut am Mikro und Ziggler und Kofi hört man praktisch zum ersten Mal länger sprechen. Alle drei wollen den Intercontinental Titel und Teddy Long zwingt Ziggler den Titel zu verteidigen. Der Opener war schlecht. Nachdem Rhodes die Weihnachtsbeschmückung letzte Woche kaputt gemacht hat folgte das Match doch er haut lieber ab. Barreta vs McIntyre war schlecht. McIntyre hat seine Aggressionen nicht im Griff und legt noch einen drauf obwohl er bereits gewonnen hat. Na das wird Kelly aber nicht freuen. Del Rio und Kane vs Edge und Mysterio war in Ordnung. Das Match sollte ja vor ein paar Wochen stattfinden doch Kane war kam erst später hinzu. Del Rio musste den Pin einstecken da Kane noch ein Titelmatch mit Edge hat. Die Divas waren in Ordnung. Ausnahmsweise ganz gut mehr nicht. Loben muss man Chavo der durch die Party Segmente an Symphatie gewonnen hat. Der Main-Event war gut. Nach TLC wieder ein starkes Match mit ordentlich Spannung. Jetzt müssen aber neue Herausforderer her egal ob Ziggler und Kofi ordentlich Chemie haben. |

Die Backstage-Skits von Teddy Longs Party gehörten zu den besseren ihrer Art, in erster Linie dank Chavo Guerrero, den ich irgendwie amüsant fand. Alles harmlos und man vergisst es sofort wieder, aber auch nichts, wofür man sich schämen muss. |

Tag Team Match mit den großen Stars war wieder okay, auch wenn man es langsam doch zu oft gesehen hat. Main Event war dann gut. Insgesamt also eine durchschnittliche Sendung, in der nicht viel Story gemacht wurde. |

Schön dass im Anfangssegment die Zukunft der WWE viel Zeit bekommt, und der Main-event war dann sehr stark, villeicht sogar stärker als das Match bei TLC, und mit dem richtigen Sieger Dolph Ziggler, der weiterhin ziemlich stark gebookt wird. Rhodes ebenfalls überzeugend, hoffentlich hilft ihm die Fehde mit Show weiter. McIntyre ist recht überflüssig, genau wie die Party Segmente. allerdings schön dass Rhodes nochmal zu Wort kommt. Die allwöchigen Tag Matches der Maineventer werden immer bedeutungsloser, auch wenn es gut war. Allerding 2 schöne Ansetzungen für nächste Woche. Obwohl es in Sachen Storyentwicklungen jetzt nicht grad berauschend war, gebe ich wegen der guten Matchqualität, dem Anfangssegment und Cody Rhodes 6 Punkte. |

Natürlich hat man einen großen Personalengpass, aber man hat genügend Leute, um nicht Monat für Monat die gleichen Leute um die Titel fehden lassen zu müssen. Aber genau das passiert leider. |

Der Fokus auf den IC Title hat mir hingegen zugesagt, sowohl das Eröffnungssegment, als auch der Main Event haben wir gut gefallen, obwohl ich lieber Swagger als Sieger gesehen hätte. Die Darstellung von McIntyre kann ebenfalls überzeugen und auch das Tag Match war als solches ganz nett. Allerdings befinden sich auch diese vier im Stillstand. Beide Fehden kann ich mittlerweile nicht mehr sehen, vor allem gewinnen jede Woche die Faces. Die Segmente der Party mit Chavo waren hochgradig lächerlich, die anderen waren aber ok. Insgesamt ein sehr durchwachsener Jahresabschluss. |
| 17 | 01.01.2011 | Smi-48 | 6.0 | Vickie's Höhenangst-Promo war ja ganz amüsant, leider nahm die Ansetzung des Titelmatches dieser grotesk komischen Angelegenheit den Wind aus den Segeln. Cody Rhodes reiht sich widerspruchslos in die Reihe derer ein, die sich gegen Big Show lieber auszählen denn den Hintern versohlen lassen - nette Brustfarbe übrigens. Chavo's Party-Show war unterhaltsam. Dafür dass Striker das Wort "Über" so gerne verwendet, darf er es ruhig korrekt auszusprechen lernen ... und McIntyre vergisst seine guten Vorsätze, ein besserer Mensch zu werden, recht zügig. Das Tag-Match war bei guter Crowd routiniert geworkt - allerdings beginnt mich dieses unmotivierte Buchen von Tag-Konstellationen der letzten Wochen zu nerven. Die Damenfehde beginnt in dieser Konstellation interessant zu werden - auch wenn der zwischenzeitliche Aufgabegriff von Layla relativ dösig aussah. Der letzte Kampf des Abends ist wrestlerisch versöhnlich und kommt besonders im letzten Drittel ordentlich in Schwung. Ziggler beginnt endlich, dem Titel gut zu tun. Undramatische Episode mit nettem MainEvent. |
