422.05.2025Styles61910.0This was an incredible match. Joshi wrestlers back in the 90's were no joke, as it seemed they would routinely outshine American male wrestlers. As far as teams go, the only teams in 1992 that can hold a candle to these women in the ring were the Steiner Brothers and the Hollywood Blonds. This was fast paced 40 minute match and these women certainly laid their shots in on each other. I've seen certain complaints that they relied too much on the same moves. While I can see why, that didn't bother me because these women where hitting each other pretty good with their moves, so while it was simple at times, it looked awesome. One thing that did bug me, and this was something I noticed in the last 10 minutes of the match, was that there were times when it seemed like they were either rushing through their spots or were simply not certain spots or moves a chance to breathe after it was done. So when a kickout happened or a big move was hit or missed, it was right on to the next spot. That's why the finish was so sudden to me when Manami Toyota pinned Mayumi Ozaki with a German suplex, granted she did hold Ozaki's hand in front of her when she did this. There also seemed to be some miscommunication as Ozaki clearly rolled her shoulder off the before 3, but the referee counted the final fall anyway. Whether this was a botch on Okazi's end or the referee, I have no idea. Small complaints aside, this was an excellent match where all 4 women went to battle against each other. ****3/4
521.05.2025michaels3336.0One of my least favourite matches of Manami Toyota's career. They were relying too much on the same moves all the time. It was just basic stuff over and over again. Surprisingly I really liked Ozaki here, she ws really good. Again, not a bad match by any means, just wish they had shown us something different.

1915.03.2025OwenEdwards9.0Really, really good, helped by an insanely lively crowd. This probably runs too long in the third fall, but mostly this is just running along at a great pace, a lot of this being archetypal Joshi Go-Go-Go (of course; Toyota is there). Role definition is excellent, and everyone is distinct, despite a seeming mirror match. Kansai and Yamada are the strikers, but Kansai is bigger and stiffer and a little heelish, where Yamada is sympathetic; Toyota and Ozaki both fly high, but Toyota flies more and Ozaki is vastly more vicious. The first fall establishes everything and has a careful dissection of the local faces (14:38), with a lot of Toyota Torture. Yamada decides to get revenge in the second fall, taking Kansai to the original Suplex City for a rapid fire pin (1:44) - this was, in its own way, one of my favourite falls in 2/3 Falls matches ever, and a reminder of how flexible the format is. The final fall - overlong, as mentioned (24:02) - has several brawl sections, millions of nearfalls, which are often enjoyably broken up but in a way which eventually palls, and ends with Kansai more or less taken out, leaving Ozaki to be tortured and battered. The Zenjo crowd gets behind Ozaki despite her torturing ways, which is a sign of Ozaki's range. Really good. 4.5/5

3203.12.2024Dweeeab10.0Extremely fast paced match that goes for 40 mins. Yamada and Kansai are the heavy hitting strikers and their kicks sounded insane they were wailing into everyone. Ozaki and Toyota provided the spectacle with high flying moves and fast paced action. The crowd was absolutely insane throughout the whole match and made every move feel that much more impactful. The crowd was actually so loud that you could barely hear the commentary at times. The first fall Toyota made that powerbomb look like death and their were some really creative moves like for the second fall which we saw a vertebreaker turned into a German which was insane. Both teams just meshed so well in this match and its honestly one of the best tag matches ever men or women.

3923.09.2024Puroresu19728.0The crowd was absolutely electric for this. I have a few criticisms with this match: It was far too long, the third fall lasted far too long and the pin falls were a little underwhelming due to the break ups coming around the same time as the three count. Also there was a lack of wrestling psychology with no selling and the fact that the matches pace was insane and not in a good way just slow the fuck down. Regardless its a very enjoyable match that doesnt feel near close to its length, the stiff strikes and neck bumps are utterly brutal. Kansai & Yamada apparently wanted to murder each other. Manami Toyota is the goat dude
4012.09.2024igskillfart10.0(4.75*) fun match to watch, it actually flys by pretty fast considering its 40 minutes long, this might be one of the greatest tag team matches of all time and 1992 MOTYC

5110.06.2024uselessdollthing7.0Something that brings this down for me is that I really did feel its length in the first and sometimes third fall. The first fall is definitely the worst of them all although it still did have its moments and was overall a very stiff and hard hitting bout. But that second fall has got to be one of the best I've ever seen and its flow into the third fall made the third fall better than it should have been for me. The third fall keeps the momentum of the second fall although it does drag on a bit at times its not enough to ruin the match for me. Key moments was Yamada destroying Kansai in the second fall and alot of the crazy shit Toyota does in this match, especially in the third fall.

Everyone looked like they were at the top of the world in this, and every pin fall was so captivating. Brilliantly put together. Is it perfect? Absolutely not, but it shows off what Joshi wrestling is about, and can immediately get anyone interested. Just really enjoyed this.

6621.01.2024Mattview729.0There was a lot to love in this match. The fast pace, intensity, and energy from the crowd, all made for a really fun match. I did not feel the length at all, only thing I had to get used to was how the tag system went during the match. Seems like if you got close enough to the corner, it was just assumed you tagged in. I accepted it though because at least it was consistent, but it did take some getting used to. Where some points get taken away from me though is the second fall felt like it came a little quickly and the early kickout of the finish. I don't want to be too harsh on it since it looked fine enough from the camera angle, but the finish is so important to me and its not a great feeling when instead of getting all pumped up I go, "Oh that was three? Really? Oh...ok." I go 8.5 out of 10.

7125.12.20232187.0This was 40 minutes of cool moves and rest holds. I can usually accept and enjoy AJW 'high speed' style where not much is sold and everything moves in 4x speed but this one just did nothing for me. It felt like it went on forever and ever. Can't justify the rating here on cagematch, sorry.

8010.09.2023Shadow Explosion9.0Soooooo close to being the first time I've given a Manami Toyota match a 10. I'm honestly kinda pissed. This is a fantastic 20 minute match that should've just been a 1 fall match, or at least have the third fall only go maybe 10 or 12 minutes. Instead they went another 20, and that was actually a detriment and why I can only give this a 9. But I'll throw out the positives first. Kansai & Ozaki are fucking awesome. Dynamite Kansai & Mayumi Ozaki should be talked about more as one of the best tag teams in world, I absolutely love their dynamic, and they have the same gold pattern on their gear which makes them look more like a cohesive team than how Yamada & Toyota look. Their tag team moves are so good and they have great chemistry. The amount of kicks both Yamada & Kansai throw are so crazy, even if they miss a few they more than make up with some stiff shots to the damn face. Hell even Toyota was throwing kicks directly into Kansai's face, that shit was awesome. Yamada's backdrop driver to Ozaki in the first fall was NUTS. I think it's kinda funny that the second fall ran so short, but it was realistic, I always love Yamada's Reverse Gory Bomb. Sadly throughout the third fall, you could tell everybody was gassed. Every time someone did an irish whip it would look slower and slower. Except with Toyota her cardio is amazing. I thought it was pretty weird when Toyota basically spanked Ozaki, I'm kinda surprised no one commented on that already, but it felt out of place lol. Kansai did some weak chair throws though, and then Manami threw a set of two chairs stuck together at Kansai, Why were those chairs stuck together, why'd she go for those ones? it was so funny looking. The final 5 minutes are actually really damn good though, and almost made up with the previous 15 "nothing's really going on" minutes of the match, Kansai & Ozaki's heel work is just so good, and the mis-communication spot where Kansai dives on Ozaki AHH that's hot. But then they just wouldn't stop kicking out. Over and Over and Over. It's no wonder the finish was botched, Ozaki kicked out of like 10 moves in the last 2 minutes. It's a shame though cause I do like the Japanese Ocean Suplex, but Ozaki basically on instinct kicked out at like 2.99, a damn shame. I can't say this is "The Greatest Tag Match in History" or that it's even "The Greatest Women's Tag Match in History". AND I REALLY WANT TO. This was fun as hell for the first twenty but that third fall was overkill. It's a Classic though, I will say that, no doubt. Just wish there wasn't so many kickouts at the end.
