Cody is usually an energetic and enthusiastic performer, but whether it was a poor matchup with Janela or something else he spent the entire half hour looking like he was legitimately nervous being thrown around the ring and bullied while and increasingly frustrated audience called for their hometown boy to pick himself up and change the pace or energy in increasing amounts like parents trying to encourage a child who has fumbled at a piano concert and frozen instead of continuing to play. I don't know what was going on, Janela was hitting hard and what may have been an attempt to get Cody over might have thrown him off early? Truly the only painful match I would fast forward on a rewatch, and it would have been good if half the time with an energy change. |

| 4 | 30.12.2024 | ParkwayDriver | 7.0 | A pretty good match that did feel long for a decent chunk of it. The match was longer than any other on the show. I wouldn't call it bad at any point but the match duration did feel excessive for much of the earlygoings of it. The match did pick up very well in the latter half with some pretty brutal moments most notably a suplex that Cody gave Joey off the apron to the floor on a pretty thin floormat. The crowd were rather into the match in the closing stretch as well before Joey got the win following a Burning Hammer. I do think condensed the match may have been able to have been better but there was still a lot to like with what both did here. 6.5-7 |
