There was some beautiful, flawless chain wrestling here and nothing really felt rehearsed, so it gave it even more authenticity. Also I liked how Arn tried to keep up with Wright's pace, but when he wasn't able to he was trying to cheat his way out of the problems. A great finish with Anderson faking the punch, just to hit the DDT and end this very nicely done title match."

[7.0] "A lovely match, one neatly tucked into a suitable, efficient time frame, a classic Arn Anderson type match that is essentially dominated for 90% of it by Alex Wright, who shows why people to this day still think he had the potential to be a massive superstar in the business. Everything he does here is remarkably sharp and effective for his age, he doesn't look out of place grappling with Arn on the mat, his offense looks good, and he never forgets the story they're trying to achieve. I love when he lands the splash over the top and immediately goes to landing some tremendous punches on Arn on the floor. Arn gives this all the lovely detail though, coming in with a degree of arrogance due to Alex's age, before being awed by how quickly Wright gets the better of him. This pushes him onto the defensive, a rare place for him to be, and he makes a few mistakes through over-aggressiveness you wouldn't normally see. In the end though, you don't make mistakes against the Enforcer, and Wright eschewing a cover opportunity for a nice missile dropkick plays perfectly into the fakeout DDT finish. He left the door open enough for Arn to find a way, and that's what he did. A great time, highly recommended. ***3/4"

[7.0] "Aggressively Arn Anderson, giving this undercard some quality in the most professional, understated fashion possible. Armed with a rare clean win ahead of him, Anderson dedicates almost the entire runtime to showcasing Wright's young, but promising game. To his credit, Wright capitalises on that space too, believably outwrestling Anderson while sprinking in some flashiness to boot. It's not a great match, nor does it have any intention of reaching those heights. Instead, it's a purposeful undercard match that arrives with immense charm and polish. ***1/4"

I'm not sure why, it was a very good match and Wright showed his ability to work a slower match more at Anderson's pace. Arn does what he always does, which is put on a great display of old school wrestling."
