1220.05.2025testified8810.0If you enjoy matches that aren't overly chaotic but still bring a hardcore edge while maintaining a strong balance between wrestling chemistry and brutality, I think Dante Fox vs. Killshot ranks as one of the best matches ever produced under those conditions. They made this incredibly personal, even though it wasn't between their true selves, but rather the personas they portrayed in Lucha Underground at the time. Killshot was incredible back then, and Dante Fox proved to be his strongest and most fitting opponent. There were some crazy spots throughout the match that never felt too over-the-top, each one making sense and building up the intensity as the match progressed. The chemistry between them only grew stronger the longer they went at it. The entire structure of the match was excellent, the commentary complemented the action perfectly, and the crowd gave both men the reaction they truly deserved. Kudos to both of them for creating such an underrated masterpiece that everyone needs to watch before they die.

2128.03.2025igskillfart10.0(4.75*) Yeah... what is there to be said about this match, I guess... AWSOMEE! That was one of the bloodiest matches, if not THE bloodiest match you will ever see on television. This was my first eye on Killshot (later became Swerve Strickland), and I became a fan. I mean, this was one of his best performances. Dante Fox is arguably one of the toughest individuals ever, I cant imagine how he went through the class with his back already skinned off; this is definitely a MOTYC and is the best match in Lucha Underground history.

2905.03.2025Geo9310.0Probably one of the bloodiest matches I've ever seen. Before this, I only knew Dante Fox as Ricochet's tag partner in PWG, and yeah they had some great matches but... nothing like this. And Killshot (who'd later become Swerve Strickland) really impressed me too. There wasn't a dull moment in this match, and when you thought they couldn't top the last moment, they went ahead and did it, many times over. Despite being 25 minutes long, it flew by, and I could've watched a lot more action between these two. Absolutely amazing athleticism showcased, showing how these two could really go in the ring. It felt like the intensity was incredibly high with this match, and there were some really stiff strikes throughout. I was in shock by the end, and so were the crowd, the commentators and even the damned referee. One of, if not the best, death match I've ever watched. This was a whole new level of hardcore-style wrestling.

3318.02.2025FelipeTalksGraps9.0[4.5*] One of the most insane matches I have ever seen. The first fall ends with a table of glass spot, the second one ends with a barbed-wire table + JML Driver on the glass that was on the ground, and the third fall ended with Killshot hitting Dante Fox with a glass bottle on the top of the stage that made him bump into two tables of glass, so Killshot put him on the Ambulance and won the match. It was fucking phenomenal from start to finish, with insane storytelling and facial expressions from Fox. They mixed up the cool lucha libre moves with the brutality of a death match in a perfect way and this may be my favorite indy match ever (if LU is not a indy, ignore it). I was speechless.

3605.02.2025FistfulOfSmackdown [10.0] This is my favorite Lucha Underground match of ALL TIME! This is the absolute peak of Lucha Underground, and while LU may have been best left forgotten at times, when it hit, it hit DIFFERENT. I think this STILL might by Strickland's (A.K.A. Killshot) best work. Timeless.

3831.01.2025sarahlicity10.0After last week's "rematch" between the now-Swerve Strickland and the now-AR Fox, I decided to go back and watch this, and it was just as good as I remember. A brutal bloody war worthy of the stipulation name. If you were surprised at how bloody the feud with Hangman seven years later got, well, you probably weren't aware of this.

4322.01.2025JohnAbbaRiley10.0A scary bloodbath, this was an incredible bloodbath. I don't know the storyline going into this match but this was a violent story told in a two out of three falls match. The spots and stunts done were incredible. *****

4814.01.2025jsborts9.0This is one of those matches that is so good it kind of challenges how good a cinematic/edited wrestling match can be, because it genuinely feels perfect. These guys just do everything they can and put their bodies completely on the line, and if anything its almost too gratuitous, but the editing probably helps it stay underneath that. Its a really really special match that is probably the best version of this kind of match to possibly have.

5120.12.2024DumBBoyMan10.0This match holds a special place in my heart. I used to watch Lucha Underground all the time when it was on Netflix, and I always came back to this match. This match, to a young me, was the craziest thing I had ever seen in my entire life. And even now, I stole hold it as the craziest wrestling match I've ever seen. I know there are definitely matches that did everything this did and even more, but the story behind this plus the emphasis of it all is what really puts it above the rest. That final fall from Dante Fox will forever live in my head. That's what makes this match so special. It will forever remain one of the pieces of Lucha Underground that we talk about in wrestling history, no matter how long ago it was. 10/10, 5 Stars.

6320.10.2024Joe90710.0This match was absolutely insane. It was a chaotic two out three falls type of match with a different stipulation each fall. The first fall was like a showcase of athleticism and big bumps with Dante Fox winning the first fall putting Killshot through glass. The second fall was no DQ. The barbed wire bed spot was insane and Killshot hitting the JML driver for the 2nd fall. The third fall had one of the most brutal spots of all time. Dante getting knocked out with a glass bottle, and falling of a balcony and landing straight on glass. They put on phenomenal performances in this brutal match. *****

7405.09.2024brooksavage200410.0This masterpiece is the most bonkers, chaotic and gruesome matches ever. All the action and every spot with all the tables, glass sheets and barbed wired boards were just insane, Fox and Killshot gave the most phenomenal deathmatch performances of a lifetime, this represents everything that made Lucha Underground a thing to be remembered and this match was definitely their magnum opus.

8522.07.2024rinyald10.0Theres nothing you can possibly say about this match to capture the sheer brutality of it. Easily one of the bloodiest matches I've ever seen, but it's not as simple as two guys smashing light tubes over either's heads. They still deliver absolutely crazy and fast paced action up until the very ending spot (which may just be one of the craziest spots I've seen in wrestling, except maybe Allin's glass spot in Sting's last match or Nick Mondo's crazy one). A great mix of the new style lucha-libre and the brutality of a deathmatch with the history between these two fueling it. Amazing and gruesome work from these two which really cemented both as superstars despite Fox not really getting his flowers.
8614.07.2024Scorsato9.0
8706.07.2024EyeSocketCrunch9.0The grimy and dingy Lucha Underground temple used to its fullest extent as Killshot and Fox destroy each other with pieces of glass and barbed wire. Loved the tension in the first fall, waiting for either man to bleed first, before completely exploding during the second, and falling face-first dead on the third. Loved the ending with Killshot carrying Fox into the medivac, no extra kick outs or fighting back, a decisive victory.
